damn dude that penis is pink
Conner wasn't quite sure how things were progressing with Gavin, because this wasn't like anything he'd known before and he wasn't quite sure how it was working. He loved spending time with Gavin and was very likely on his way to just plain old loving Gavin, but they hadn't done anything except make out once, and since they'd hung out a few times that could only just barely be called dating. Gavin was a little quiet and walled off, which wasn't really different from how he'd been before, but Conner was unsure how he felt about the relationship, or if he was interested in taking it seriously.
That was why when Gavin asked him to take him to dentist (apparently, it had been many years since his last visit), he'd been thrilled. Taking someone to the doctor was the kind of serious-boyfriend-thing that Conner had never really done with anyone else, and he was very excited to do it for Gavin. He was glad Gavin trusted him enough for this, and he really wanted to do a good job taking care of him before and after, to prove he was serious.
He was a little nervous on his way over to Gavin's, even though Gavin was the one getting work done, because he'd be the one keeping Gavin from terrifying the doctor, and he kind of felt like he was taking a big step in their relationship. When he arrives outside Gavin's building he pulls out his phone to text him, struggling a little with the new phone Gavin had helped him get. He didn't really understand how to use it, but he was reasonably sure he could text Gavin and let him know he was here.
"I'm here! whose ready to get some teeth pulled?????" he typed out, deliberating a little over whether or not he should send something more... affectionate, but then shrugging and deciding that was fine and hitting send.

He jumps a little when he gets a text, snapping out of his nervous daydreams to read it. It's from Conner, and Gavin half laughs a sigh of relief.
"Well i smoked half a bowl so i guess im about as ready as im going to get," he taps out, before pulling on his shoes and walking out the door to Conner's car. He opens the door and slumps down into the passenger side, smiling over at Conner and tugging somewhat shyly on his earlobe.
"Hey," he says, then, after a second of deliberation, leans over and pecks him on the lips, "Thanks for doing this, I really...my bottom teeth are starting to get crooked, they showed me a picture of what they'd look like if I didn't get them pulled when I went in last time, it was nightmarish. I was also having a really bad high. I smoked a -- I smoked a lot last time I went in, I smoked so much, anyway, I'm just really glad to be getting this finally like I should have when I was like. Sixteen."

"Yeah, well, it'll be over soon and I'll take care of you," he says, grinning widely, then turning back to start the car and drive to the dentist's.
"You'll be fine, they'll get you hopped up on the good stuff and I'll be there to keep you from, you know, exploding or whatever," he says, shooting Gavin another smile, "And after I'll bring you back to my place and take care of you."

He pulls a joint out of his pocket, and fishes in the compartment between the seats for the lighter he knew Conner kept in the car, and when he finds it he lights the joint, rolling down the windows and puffing nervously.
"I've never been put to sleep before," he says, his eyes watering a little as he tries not to cough, "No. That's not what it's called. They've never put me under. Sorry I'm just...nervous. But I'm really glad, also, that I caught this before it got bad, because I can't afford braces, plus it'll give me more room. In my mouth."
He sits silently for a minute as he thinks about the implications of what he just said, then laughs, a little too loud.
"I don't mean for, like...blowjobs," he laughs, his voice taking on the distinctly Valley Girl inflections it did when he was high, nervous, or both, "I just mean for like...any...any other things, I don't -- I mean I don't...not do that, I'm not saying it's a bad -- it's, like, a two way street, where you can do like, a blowjob, but also for other things, and -- oh, we're here."
He gets out of the car before it stops moving, and heads into the waiting room and up to the front desk before Conner has even parked to check in.

"Hey, it'll be all right, I'll be right there with you the whole time," he says cheerfully, rubbing Gavin's back with the hand he has draped over the back of his chair.

"...Thank you," he says again, quietly, then, after a moment of staring at Conner's face, and another moment of glancing around the room to make sure the other patients weren't looking at them, he leans forward, kissing Conner deeply on the mouth with more tongue than he probably should have used in a public place.
"Paige?" calls the nurse, and it's not until she repeats herself with Gavin's last name that Gavin remembers that Paige is his given name.
"Paige Br...sez...sezinski?" she repeats uncertainly, and Gavin stands up fast from his chair.
"That's me, that's me," he says, breaking the kiss and flushing a little at the use of his birth name in front of Conner. He stands up, making his way to the front desk and clearing his throat.
"That's me, um, here, here's your...stuff," he says, twirling a strand of his hair with one hand, "Um...my...boyfriend. Boyfriend. My boyfriend will be in...accordance with us today. For the operation. Attendance. The doctor already said it was cool, so..."
The nurse raises an eyebrow, but nods, and stands up to let them into the office. She leads Gavin to one of the suites and motions for him to sit in the chair, which he does, and tells him the doctor will meet with them shortly.
"Cool, thank you again," Gavin says as she's leaving, then turns his eyes to Conner, smiling a little before looking down at his lap.
"I...hope it was cool that I said you were...my boyfriend, back there," he says nervously, "I mean, I don't know if you're...I don't know. I mean I know...you...I mean, you have to have a million other people that you're...kissing and taking to the dentist, with lots more room in their mouth than my mouth, I...don't want to be weird ohhh look the doctor's here, hello...my...good sir, how do you do?"

The doctor greets Gavin, and Conner immediately stands up to offer his hand.
"I'm Conner, his boyfriend," he says pointedly, earning an odd look from the dentist as he smiles over at Gavin.

"All right, Pai --" the dentist starts in, then corrects himself, "I'm sorry, you're the one who's transitioning, I have a note here that you like to be called Gavin." Gavin nods gratefully, giving Conner's hand another nervous squeeze.
"All right, Gavin, I'm just going to go over a few things with you before we begin..."
The dentist re-explains the procedure to him as he affixes the mask and administers the anaesthetic, and Gavin is out cold in less than a minute, still limply holding Conner's hand in his lap. He doesn't wake up until it's time to leave, and when he does, his head is spinning.
"Are you guys gonna put me under? Because I'm totally ready," he mumbles around a puffy-cheeked mouth full of cotton balls.
"It's over, Gavin, you're free to go home now. If you don't think you can walk, we can provide a wheelchair to help you get to the car.
"I can walk," Gavin scoffs, attempting to stand up, but he stumbles, catching onto Conner's shoulder just in time. The dentist chuckles lightly before motioning for his nurse to bring them a wheelchair.
"Keep a close eye on him," he says to Conner, "No solid foods for today, let him get plenty of rest, make sure he doesn't run off anywhere."
no subject
"I won't let him out of my sight, I swear," he promises solemnly, then helps push Gavin's wheelchair out of the office, stopping along the way to pick up Gavin's prescription for pain meds.
"All right," he says as the nurse wheels Gavin out to the car, "My freezer is stocked with fro-yo and I've got a couch with your name on it." He shares a smile with the nurse and loads Gavin into the front seat of his car, going around the get in the driver's seat.
"Ready? You feeling okay?" he asks, turning to Gavin before he starts the car.

He leans his head back again and smiles dazedly over at Conner, reaching over to touch his face with one hand and accidentally pushing his pinky finger partway into Conner's mouth.
"I like your scruff," he giggles stupidly, rubbing his thumb over Conner's cheek, "You're so cute. And nice. And funny."
He leans closer, and lowers his voice significantly, almost whispering in Conner's ear.
"I like you," he mumbles, wiping a small amount of drool that had dribbled down his chin and patting Conner's face, "You're such a good...youuuu are a good boy."
no subject
Conner laughs, flushing a little at Gavin's flattery and his confirmation of his feelings.
"Thanks, I like you too," he says warmly, kissing Gavin's fingers, "You're also a good boy," he adds, grinning, then reaches up to take Gavin's hand and hold it, "Let's take our good boy selves back home, huh?"
He double checks Gavin's seat belt and then starts the car, driving away. Gavin is chatty on the drive back, and Conner laughs the whole way.
"All right, we're here," he says, parking outside his apartment, "Think you can walk?"
no subject
"Okay," he mumbles, closing his eyes, "I just need a second. Juust a second."
no subject
Conner laughs again, closing the car doors and locking up before he goes to rescue Gavin. At first he just slings an arm around Gavin's shoulders, but then Gavin continues to struggle so he puts one arm under Gavin's knees and the other under his shoulders and picks him up.
He carries him up to his apartment that way, setting him down outside his door so he can reach his keys.
"I guess carrying you over the threshold is moving a little too fast," he jokes while he unlocks the door and leads Gavin inside, sitting him down on the couch.
no subject
"You're...strong," Gavin says, smiling dumbly, but his goofy grin breaks into a slightly pained expression when he keeps speaking, "And...nice. Really nice. So nice. You're so nice, God, why are you so nice to me?"
no subject
Conner laughs again, sitting down next to Gavin and putting his arm around him.
"I don't know," he says, smiling faintly, "I like you. I like that weird face you make when someone's being nice to you." Conner grins, realizing it's a little easier to be honest with Gavin like this. Not that he wasn't usually honest with Gavin, just that it was easier to avoid feeling awkward and nervous.
"I like all of your faces, actually," he adds thoughtfully.
no subject
"You smell good," he mumbles, "...Thank you, for taking me. And for smelling good. And for taking care of me, do you take a lot of guys to get their teeth pulled?"
He hadn't meant for the last question to come out as heavy as it did, and realized even with his head severely clouded that he probably shouldn't have asked at all. He lets out a stiff "ha ha," and stiffens a little in Conner's arms.
no subject
He leans back in to kiss Gavin on the nose, giving him a reassuring smile.
"No, actually, you're the first."
no subject
"So there's not...anyone else?" he asks, his voice cracking slightly, "...I'm sorry, this is...weird, I shouldn't have asked, it's fine, I'll just...I'm going to screw this up, I screwed it up already, I'm making an idiot out of myself, see, I knew I should have driven myself home, or something, I just --"
He rubs at his face, and only after staring at his damp hands for a second does he realize there are tears in his eyes.
"Should have...driven myself," he mumbles, sniffling, and one of the bloody cotton balls he has stuffed in his mouth falls out onto his chest.

"Hey, hey, hey," Conner says, alarmed by Gavin's sudden change in attitude, "It's all right, Gavin, It's okay." He replaces the cotton balls in Gavin's mouth before he puts a.hand on the side of his face, looking at him seriously.
"You're not an idiot, you're not screwing this up, and I'm not seeing anyone else," he says, stroking his hand through Gavin's hair, "I'm not interested in anyone else."
no subject
"That's good," he says, his voice obviously relieved, and the tears stop forming as soon as they had started, "That's...really good. I'm not. Either. Obviously I couldn't be. 'Cause...you know, but...I'm not."
He kisses Conner's cheek lightly by bumping his face against him, and leaves a small spot of blood as he does.

"How about some ice cream, huh?" he says, ruffling Gavin's hair a little as he stands up and moves into the kitchen. He comes back a few minutes later with two bowls of frozen yogurt, handing one to Gavin and sitting back down next to him.
