It had been two weeks since the attack on the station, and though they had both healed (Xo moreso than Bullet, who was still getting a headache when he used his powers), they'd both been so busy that they'd barely had any time alone. First, Bullet had been stuck in the medbay for a few days, then they'd had to relocate to the insurance company headquarters and transport all their belongings to hotel rooms while the station was being repaired, and with all the media attention and interviews there had been very little kissing since Bullet had fallen asleep on Xo's hospital bed. But now they finally had some downtime, and Bullet had invited Xo out to dinner in the city, with the promise from Pike and Angela that they wouldn't get called in for anything except the most dire of emergencies.
Vic had insisted that it was traditional in human culture to bring an offering on a first date, which Bullet considered and then rejected; neither of them were actually human, and they'd been out to dinner together plenty of times, so it wasn't actually their first date. He had allowed Gina to help him pick out something to wear, and she'd directed him towards a Korzan formal outfit, in a dark gray rather than the usual Korzan black, because it would complement his skin tone better, whatever that meant. He'd thought the pants were too tight but Gina had insisted that was the best part of the outfit, and hadn't allowed him to switch for a bigger size.
As Bullet made his way towards Xo's hotel room, he realized he was nervous, oddly enough. He knew he shouldn't have been; they'd been out to dinner lots of times. But this felt different, special, because it was the first time they'd be going out together after Xo had returned his feelings. Bullet had even trimmed his beard and made sure his hair was less untamed than usual, something he hadn't felt the need to do since Xo had invited him back to Korza to meet their family.
Bullet hovered outside Xo's door, taking a deep, fortifying breath before reaching out to knock.

"Hey," they say, breathlessly, a little taken aback by the sight of him. "I'm almost--I'm almost ready, just give me a--you look really nice, uhh, I'll be right there."
They leave the door open as they rush over to the bedside table, tripping over a box on the way to grab their wallet, jacket, and key card, before coming back out and meeting Bullet in the hall.
no subject
"You look nice too," he says, then steps into Xo's space, hesitating for a moment before gently putting his hand on Xo's cheek and leaning in to kiss them. It's longer than a peck, but not quite long enough to be a deep kiss, and when Bullet pulls back he's flushed and grinning.
"Really nice."
no subject
"So, uh," they say, pulling back and biting their lip, following him down the hall with their hands in their pockets, "Where are we headed? You said you got us in somewhere nice, is it far?"

As they make their way down to the lobby Bullet brushes his shoulder against Xo's, thinking about taking their hand in his own. It was amazing that Bullet had taken so long to realize his own feelings, when he was pretty sure he had developed them immediately upon meeting Xo, and he'd been thinking about holding their hand for a while now. On Korza that was a very intimate gesture, only exchanged between spouses or very close family members, and almost never in public. Only they weren't on Korza now, and Bullet wanted so badly to touch Xo's hand, so he reached out and gently wrapped his hand around Xo's forearm, smiling warmly and testing the waters.

"All right," they say, losing the battle against the grin that was now spreading across his lips, "I'll follow you, then, I'm...I've hardly ever even been to a restaurant before."
no subject
And Bullet liked this, like being able to treat Xo to things they had never experienced before.
"It's great, you'll love it," Bullet said, squeezing Xo's hand, almost running into a door when he forgot to look where he was going because he was too busy appreciating Xo.
They walked towards the restaurant hand in hand, chatting lightly about their team members and nothing at all, until Bullet had to take his hand from Xo's to hold open the door of the restaurant for them.

"Uhh...do you know what's good?" they ask Bullet, looking over the list of strange foods, feeling a little lost.
no subject
"Maybe I should have just picked a burger place like that one on the station you like," he said, embarrassed but smiling, and waited for the server to come back. He told the server about their situation, how they'd never been to this restaurant, or one like it, and didn't know what to order. Bullet turned on the charm, informing the server that this was their first date and he didn't want it to go badly, and made the server laugh as they suggested some choices.

"You're good at that," they snicker, taking a sip of their glowing blue drink, "Charming people, I mean. It's like you're on TV or something."
no subject
Bullet laughs, squeezing Xo's hand under the table as he sips on his own drink.
"Well, it was kind of my job," he says with a smile, "Though I guess we both know how well that went. Still, I just like talking to people."
no subject
"This is good," they say, chewing slowly and keeping their mouth closed, like they had seen humans do in earth movies and TV shows. In lower caste Korzan culture, it was more polite to eat quickly to show appreciation for the meal, but they were sure that doing so here would earn them dirty looks.
"How's yours?" they ask, taking care to swallow their food before speaking.
no subject
"Good!" Bullet says, then swallows, "Surprisingly good. Reminds me of Korza." The delivery of the food meant they couldn't hold hands under the table anymore, but Bullet compensated by moving his foot out, stroking it gently against Xo's shin.
"So, uh, is your room okay?" Bullet asked, unsure what kind of conversation was date appropriate.
no subject
"It's fine," they say, almost forgetting to chew with their mouth shut, "It's pretty nice. I'm having some trouble getting to sleep, though. Also, the people in the room above me keep having...relations. Pretty late at night."
Their face flushes a little as their mind briefly goes somewhere it shouldn't, and they stuff several more bites in their mouth, not minding their manners this time.
no subject
"You could always come over to my room if you couldn't sleep," Bullet said with a small smile, taking a sip of his drink to cover his smirk.
no subject
"Stop!" they whisper, drinking their water and wiping at their watering eyes, looking around the room to see if anyone was staring at them. They steer the conversation away from the topic quickly, though the blush in their cheeks doesn't fade until the waitress brings them their check.
no subject
"Do you, uh, want to hang out a little?" Bullet asks, flushing a little and glancing away.
no subject
"Yeah, yeah," they stutter, sliding the key into the scanner and opening the door in front of them, holding it open for Bullet to follow.
Inside are several cardboard boxes full of Xo's belongings, which they hadn't yet taken the time to unpack since they'd been forced to evacuate the station. Xo didn't own much, and hadn't brought much of what they owned with them when they started their new job. There's one box marked "clothes," another marked, "toiletries," another marked "misc," and a fourth one with the word "Bullet" scrawled in very small letters. Xo attempts to kick this box under the bed as they enter the room as nonchalantly as possible before sitting down on the edge of the bed.
no subject
"Oh, what's this?" he says, reaching to open the box before he's even done speaking, and he freezes when he instantly recognizes the items in the box.
"What... Xo..." he says, reaching into the box to pull out a very detailed figurine that was a remarkable likeness of Bullet with his powers activated. He looked from the figure to Xo, his eyes wide and his mouth hanging open.
no subject
They reach for the box, trying to take it out of Bullet's reach, but spill it onto the floor instead, dropping several more figures--some of which look to be painstakingly repainted by hand--as well as a poster, and a few other odds and ends.
"Fuuuck," Xo whines through their fingers, their face glowing bright enough to light the entire room.
no subject
"I thought you were a fan when you were younger," Bullet says, still stunned. Suddenly a lot of different things made sense, the intense hatred Xo had shown when they'd first met and the enthusiasm with which they had returned Bullet's feelings.
"Oh my god, you've had a crush on me forever. Is this like, a dream come true for you?"
no subject
"Shut the fuck up!" they groan, "Oh my god, you're such an asshole!"
no subject
"No, I'm sorry!" Bullet says, reaching over to touch Xo's shoulder, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to embarrass you, it's okay, I swear." He scoots closer to Xo, gently pulling him back into a sitting position, "I'm glad. It's... sweet." He laughed a little, awkwardly, looking down at the figure he's still holding, "I, uh, I always thought I was weird and freakish looking and for the first couple years I didn't even appear in public without a shield. I, uh..." Bullet laughed again, "I'm glad you disagree."
no subject
"I told you a thousand times I was a fan," they mumble, bending down to pick up their other figures. They handle them gingerly, as if they're going to break, as they return them to the box. "Didn't you ever think maybe I had some kind of. You know. Feelings about you?" They still can't look at him, and once they've put their figures away they put their hands in their lap, squeezing them between their legs.
no subject
"Well... No, not really. I mean, you hated me. Or I thought you did. And you said you were a fan. Not you are a fan. I kind of assumed meeting the real thing would, you know, take all the fun out of it." He half-shrugged, then reached over, gently pulling Xo's hand out from between his knees and twining their fingers together. Looking down at their hands, Bullet is warmed by the sight of them, and he brings Xo's hand up to his mouth to kiss their knuckles.
no subject
"It didn't take the fun out of it," they mumble, avoiding his eyes, "it just. Stopped being a silly crush and turned into me being really...in love with you. For real."
no subject
"I love you so much," he whispers, squeezing Xo's hand.
no subject
"I love you too," they breathe, before losing themself in the kiss.
no subject
"Xo, I... I want... You, so much. But I've never really..." Bullet says, flushing badly and panting and looking down at Xo almost shyly.
no subject
"I-I want you too," they stammer, breathlessly, stroking his cheek with their thumbs, "I know, I haven't either, it's...we'll figure it out."
They raise a knee up between his legs, grinding against an unfamiliar bulge in his pants. Their eyes widen slightly, and they look down between them.
"Is that your. Uhh. I-I mean...what do you have. Down there."
no subject
"Yeah," Bullet said, slightly shamefaced, "It's... Kind of weird. I'll, uh... Just, hold on," he says, and then stands up on his knees, hiking up his tunic a little and then opening the clasp on his pants. He opened them and pushed his underwear out of the way just far enough to expose his erection, shivering a little at the cold air, and then looked down at it, frowning, not able to meet Xo's eyes.
"Sorry, uh, I understand if it's... too weird, or something."
no subject
"No, no," they say, quietly, "It's not weird, it looks a lot like an...inversion, but...always on the outside, you know? Um...what do you do with it?"
They sit up enough to reach down and touch it experimentally, wrapping their hand around it and running their palm over the tip. It was harder than they were expecting it to be, and their flush deepens at the contact.
no subject
"Uh, I don't really... know," Bullet said, his voice hoarse, "But it, uh, it feels good when you like..." He trailed off, reaching down to wrap his hand over Xo's, guiding them into a tight fist around his dick and then up and down in a stroking motion.
"Yeah," Bullet said around a groan, "Like that. It's different when it's... Uh, not me."
no subject
"D-do you...do you think it would feel good if you. I don't know. Put it in me?" they ask, finding themself hardly able to form words.
no subject
"I, uh... It might. I don't know. Do you think it would fit? I mean, it's... kind of big. What if it got stuck?" Bullet blanches at the thought, not wanting to cause Xo any pain but also not wanting to have to call Angela with such a personal and embarrassing problem.
no subject
"I, uhh, don't think that will be a problem," they breathe, "I-I've. Had some stuff in there before, I mean. Here-"
They let go of Bullet long enough to wiggle their pants down to their knees, lying with their legs apart underneath him. They take his cock into their hands again and rub the tip of it against their opening, positioning him, encouraging him to push in.
no subject
"Wait, hold on," Bullet says, panting, and pulls back. He pulls his shirt over his head and throws it over the side of the bed, then shuffles back a little to get his pants off, having to wiggle his hips a little to get the tight material down his legs. His pants and underwear get chucked onto the floor as well with total disregard for the expensive material, then positions himself over Xo again. He guides his cock towards Xo's hole with one hand, his bottom lips caught between his teeth as he frowns in concentration. He gets lined up and then pushes, very gently, and the head of his cock slides in easily.
"Oh," he says again, looking up to look Xo in their eyes, "Are you-- I mean, is that okay?"
no subject
"Yeah," they say, breathlessly, nodding and gripping the bedsheets, "That's great, that's nice, do...more of that." They kick one leg out of their pants and cross them behind Bullet's back, a line of nervous sweat forming on their brow.
no subject
"Ah, God, that's... It feels so good," Bullet pulled back a little and then thrust back in, moaning as he did, "It feels like you're sucking me in. God that's good." Bullet started thrusting in earnest, one hand on Xo's thigh, pushing their legs further apart so Bullet could press in harder, the other stroking over their chest and stomach.
"Okay, I get why people do this now," he said, laughing a little but cutting himself off with a moan.
no subject
"Fuck," they groan, spreading their legs for him as far as they'll go and biting down on their finger, "Yeah, that's--fuck." They open their mouth to say more, to encourage him more, to tell him it felt good, but instead a long list of swears comes tumbling out of their mouth as they whine into their hand and push back against him.
no subject
"Hold on," he says, and then activates his powers, his eyes and veins glowing brightly as he conjures a shield underneath Xo, lifting their hips up a little and tilted forward, so that when Bullet pushes back in he can still manage to stroke his cock hard in and out of Xo while being able to kiss them.
no subject
"Oh, God, Bullet," they moan against his lips, soon finding themself too lost in the sensations to concentrate on kissing him with any precision at all.
no subject
Bullet moans in time with each thrust, the stroke of Xo's insides against his cock growing warmer and slicker and Bullet couldn't get enough. His thrusting gains in momentum until he can barely distinguish one thrust from the next; hardly even pulling out all the way before he's pushing in again, but it feels so good he doesn't care.
"Oh god, Xo, Xo, Xo," is all he manages before his orgasm takes him by surprise, gritting his teeth and groaning loud as he manages a handful of extra thrusts before he pushes in deep and hard and freezes, coming deep inside of Xo.
no subject
"Oh god," they stammer, once they've caught their breath, "I'm so sorry, I don't usually--not that much."
no subject
"Wow," Bullet breathes, twitching a little at the residual arousal that slides down his spine at the sight, "That doesn't, uh, usually happen?" he asks, looking up at Xo with a smirk.
no subject
"Not when im...doing it on my own. God, I'm sorry, we'll have to get up and take the sheets off the bed and--oh, God, housekeeping is going to see and it's all...bioluminescent and weird and--"
They nearly collapse when they try to stand up, their legs weak, and they start pulling the sheets off the bed, unable to meet Bullet's eyes from embarrassment.
no subject
"Hey," he said, resting his chin on Xo's shoulder, "It's fine, don't worry about it." He kissed down Xo's neck, his hands rubbing a soothing rhythm into their stomach, "I'm sure they've seen worse. C'mon, lets lay down, I need some serious cuddling."
no subject
"Yeah, okay," they sigh, sliding their hands over Bullet's and closing their eyes. "Me too."
no subject
"I love you," he mumbles into the back of Xo's neck, and is asleep within minutes.
